Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is the most common form of macular degeneration in the UK, affecting more than 600,000 people. 

This five-part series on AMD covers the condition from physiology, pathology and classification through to assessment, management, referral and treatment. 

Part five introduces the wide range of treatments available for AMD, including a detailed look at the anti-VEGF procedure in a hospital eye clinic. The course concludes with a look at current research and future treatment possibilities. 

Part five covers the following:

  • Early AMD
  • Late AMD
  • What happens in secondary care
  • Fluorescein angiography
  • Anti-VEGF treatments (including a video of an anti-VEGF injection procedure)
  • Future treatments and research.

At the end of the course you can complete the CPD quiz to gain one non-interactive CPD point.
