The final module of Docet's successful ageing eye series is split into two parts. The first part covers all aspects of a low vision assessment of elderly patients in community practice. In the second part you can follow a panel of experts discussing four patient scenarios focusing on optical need, depression, field loss and mobility issues followed by suggested management plans for each patient.

The first part introduces our four patients, takes you through the adapted clinical assessment and history and symptoms taking for the visually impaired patient, explains how to decide upon magnification requirements, the use of specialist charts and how to record results and gives you the nature and properties of a range of optical, non-optical and electronic low vision aids

If you want to find out how our panel of experts reviews our four patients please go to part 2 of Ageing Eye: Visual Impairment. There you will also find a management plan for each patient.
