Glaucoma is the leading cause of irreversible blindness and affects 60 million people worldwide. This eight-part series will deal with all relevant key areas, including:

The first part covers glaucoma definitions and classification.
Unit 1 gives you an update on the current definitions of glaucoma as per the NICE NG81 guidelines and an understanding of the prevalence and current challenges in the UK in identifying and treating both patients with and at risk of glaucoma.
Unit 2 - Glaucoma classification
In Unit 2, we review the anatomy of the eye and the changes that occur in glaucoma patients. The different types of glaucoma are included with their relevant signs, symptoms and risk factors, to enable you to understand the investigations required to make a differential diagnosis.
